UPDATE 19/09/2005
Well the graphing got broke again.
This time I have not been able to work out the cause. For some reason I was suddenly getting casting errors reported by cron every update.
The good news is that the guys have got the xml version of the stats page sorted, so the stats collection script has been completely rewritten to use the xml version and currently appears to be working.
I will check again in the morning when I get up and make sure it is still working as expected.
Cheers
Sarah
UPDATE 16/09/2005
It appears that the guys at Berkeley were doing the foo that they do to the status page for a while last night. We were getting errors from the status page data scraping script between 23:10 and 00:20 BST. After 00:20 things appear to have returned to normal and there is no sign of any errors or added items at the moment.
In other news, I have recieved the results and certificate from the Introduction to Radio Astronomy university course at Jodrell Bank Observatory which I finished all the way back in January and gained a pass with merit :) Needless to say I am very happy about getting an above basic pass in the first academic study I have done for over 18 years. There is also the added benefit of being able to say I have studied radio astronomy at the first and still one of the worlds leading radio astronomy observatories and been able to use thier telescopes and facilities. Whilst I do not normally go in for bragging rights, that will certainly look nice on a CV (resume for the American English speakers).
I have just finished the Sciecne of Science Fiction course from Liverpool John Moores Universtity and am awaiting results from that one.
Jodrell bank Observatory have also accepted me for a place on the Life in the Universe and SETI course which starts next month and should be really interesting, especially with my interest in SETI.
UPDATE 14/09/2005
The setiboinc team has made a couple of changes to the status page recently and this had the unfortunate side effect of breaking my data collection scripts on the 11th and again yesterday. This morning scarecrow kindly pointed out to me that they had changed the page again and I have changed the data collection script so it is now collecting data again correctly.
On the 11th they added some more queues and renamed some of the old ones so we have a gap of several hours worth of data from that date.
Yesterday they added a description for each of the queues and this was causing the data collection script to collect the description rather than the queue value adn obviously this didnt show on a numeric graph very well so we also have a gap of some hours from yesterday till this morning.
Cheers
Sarah
UPDATE 17/08/2005
I have just upgraded the server to use php5 instead of php4.
Everything appears to be working fine, but if you come across anything broken, please let me know.
I can be emailed by removing the & and adding an @ in sarah & teamseti.com
Thanks a lot.
UPDATE 13/08/2005
Due to work, life and uni course demands on my time, I haven't been able to make much more progress yet.
I have just added a graph page that shows the details given on the Boinc status page which is something some people have been asking for on the forums.
UPDATE 30/07/2005
The archival scripts have been written and tested.
Hopefully I will be able to get the monitoring scripts done today as well.
UPDATE 29/07/2005
Most of the scripts had been written and tested, however due to a dual drive failure they have currently been lost and appear to be unrecoverable
I am working to get them redone asap and hope to have something to show by the end of the weekend.
So much for dual redundant raid. This time its all going to be on 2 different dual redundant repositories.
